For the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Sparks Food Court, a fun and lively, shaded outdoor community space housing multiple food and drink stalls for the public to enjoy.
Situated at 17-21 Piccadilly in York, YO1 9PB, after visiting all the stalls I have finally made a list of the 5 best food stalls you must visit.
5 Best Dining Spots at Sparks York
Take a look at this map to see the locations of these places, as well as the nearest safe parking spots to leave your car and places to stay nearby. It will help you organize so you can orient yourself like a local.
1. Clucking Oinks Sparks
When I first discovered Sparks, I decided to check out Clucking Oinks, a trailer renowned for its mouth-watering chicken and loaded fries and nothing has compared since.
Established in 2018, Clucking Oinks quickly rose to fame and now proudly holds a spot at the Sparks food court.
Whether you prefer to dine in or take out, Clucking Oinks is a fantastic choice if you consider yourself a chicken connoisseur.
I placed Clucking Oinks at the top of my list primarily for the incredible taste and reasonable prices.
Our meal cost £18.00 in total. I opted for the regular buttermilk fried chicken and the spicy cheese fries, washed down with an ice-cold Fanta lemon.

2. Knori Southern Pan-Asian Street Food Sparks
Knori Southern Pan-Asian is a stall that sells traditional Asian dishes from Japan, Thailand, South Korea, and the Philippines. You won’t believe how delicious these dishes truly are!
Founded by AJ Silva and Napoleon Silva, The stall was made to bring joy to the citizens of york and deliver good, high-quality food to them and that’s exactly what they brought to us.
We ordered the Korean BBQ chili chicken rice bowl and the Chicken Yakisoba for a total of £20.75.
The Breaded Chicken coated in an incredibly sweet and spicy chili Korean BBQ sauce tasted so authentic laid on a bed of rice and garnished with spring onion. Yakisoba came with freshly cooked noodles in a creamy sauce. It was amazing to see true Pan-Asain food in the heart of York and service at such high quality.

3. Rads Pizza Shop Sparks
Rads Pizza Shop sells some of the best pizza I’ve ever tasted! Differing from most places store bought bases, Rads Pizza Shop uses fresh, high quality ingredients in there stone baked pizzas.
Rad Pizza was founded by Alex Brinton and general manager Maria Dendia because of their love for pizza and is slowly sharing their fondness with everyone else.
I ordered pepperoni pizza. the tomato sauce was flavourful and rich while the cheese was gooey and soft. What i love about Rads Pizza Shop is that they also offer vegan options. I also recommend trying their JD’s Hot Honey dipping sauce, it’s out of this world.

4. Herbivours Sparks
Herbivours was a great experience, the staff were so polite, chatty and served us with a smile.
The food was so flavourful and filling, i personally don’t often opt for Vegan options but Herbivours was so eye opening for me.
I bought the fried chicken burger which is a vegan original recipe fried seitan patty served with garlic and herb mayo and lettuce in a brioche bun for £13.00.
When this first arrived i couldn’t believe my eyes, It was looked and smelled exactly like a chicken burger. A lot larger than the burgers i’m used too. In the first bite you can taste the flavors and effort that’s gone into making this incredible vegan dish.
Hats off to Herbivours leading the way in Vegan cuisine.

5. Sasa Greek Street Food Sparks
Last on this list is Sasa Greek Street food, founded by Martin Tsatsas. They sell authentic Greek food good on a open flame grill. From Wraps, Skewers, Souvlaki and Cakes.
I recently visited during the sunny holidays, and their traditional cuisine on the open rooftop seating at Sparks truly transported me to the Greek Isles.
I ordered the Pork Souvlaki Box, which includes 2 pork skewers, pitta bread, chips and a small garnish. The team recommended this meal and said it was one of the most popular dish.
