I had the pleasure of stepping into a charming local treasure, The Little Apple Bookshop.

My First Impressions of Little Apple Bookshop

As I approached the bookshop, my attention was instantly captured by its striking black and white theme, which enticed me to discover what lay within.

Above the large window, fairy lights twinkled, casting a warm, welcoming glow and creating an atmosphere that felt both authentic and inviting.

Peering into the window, I was charmed display of books, a selection that seemed to capture the latest trends and interest of any passerby.

Among the literary offerings, there was a selection of branded merchandise, including tote bags and charming little trinkets that also filled the window.

Inside Little Apple Bookshop, York

As soon as I stepped inside, i instantly felt welcomed, the shop uses warm, autumnal colours to give off a cozy atmosphere this made the bookshop feel like a second home for myself.

Directly ahead, the rooms were small with the front desk situated opposite a large display window. To the left, their was a narrow corridor, leading to a more space, both areas lined with shelves brimming with books.

πŸ“– I liked that the genres was very noticeable with signs about the book shelves. The genres included, kids, mystery, fiction and non-fiction, and then the smaller genres such as fantasy, horror and romance in the back corridor.

Little Apples Bookshop has a wide selection of genres, yet it take particular pride in it’s collection of fiction, non-fiction, children’s literature.

While you won’t stumble upon any eccentric or out of the ordinary titles in this shop, it does offer an array of signed editions that caught my eye, treasures like:

  • Liam Brady’s autobiography ‘Born to be a Footballer’
  • Hollie McNish’s ‘Lobster’
  • and Professor Alice Roberts ‘Crypt’

Local Charm and Unique Features at Little Apple Bookshop

York is known for its unique history and architecture, a common location for tourists or travelers. The Little Apple Bookshop has a very antique and unique vibe which goes hand in hand with York and it’s attractions.

Over the years, The Little Apple Bookshop has held small book clubs occasionally for visitors and locals who are interested in further enhancing their connection with reading.

They are also associated with York literature festival, and will be returning this year throughout March.

My Customer Experience

Upon entering, I only saw one member of staff sitting at the counter who I believe to be the owner of the shop. He greeted me kindly and let me look around freely.

Despite my interaction when I entered, I had no other interactions or conversations with the owner, as he was busy dealing with other customers. With this being a small shop I’d of liked to of seen more interaction and hear his recommendations.

About halfway into the bookshop stands a little table with a few small toys for children.
