Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Taylor Made Kitchen (TMK) in the Shambles Food Court, renowned for its famous pizza fries.
This independent stall has revolutionized loaded fries, crafting delectable and visually stunning loaded fries.
What I particularly love about this establishment is their limited-time specials in addition to their main menu.
With such variety, there’s never a dull moment, and I can’t wait to see what new flavor combinations they come up with next.
What Is TMK, York?
Christian Taylor, the mastermind behind the incredible offerings at Taylor Made Kitchen, has come a long way from his days of peeling onions in a Bradford restaurant to becoming the creative force behind some of York’s most exceptional street food.

The concept of TMK first took shape in Scarborough, focusing on bringing locally sourced produce from farm to fork, and Christian has made that vision a reality.
Now, with a permanent spot in the Shambles Food Court, the future holds endless possibilities for TMK.
My Food at TMK, York
I decided to try the exclusive Southern fried chicken and bacon poutine, a tantalizing dish featuring:
- TMK’s renowned skin-on fries
- Crispy southern fried chicken goujons
- Smoked streaky bacon
- Smothered in bechamel sauce
- Melted mozzarella
- Southern gravy
The blend of the creamy bechamel and flavorful southern gravy, which beautifully softened the fries, was truly exceptional.
How much is TMK fries?
At just £8, my order of a regular Southern fried chicken and bacon poutine fries was not only affordable but also incredibly generous in portion size and absolutely delicious.
It’s no wonder that TMK dominates the street fries competition with offerings like these.

Where To Park?
There’s 2 car parking spots located near the shambles food court:
- Q-Parking shambles – Closest located and cheapest parking located to the city centre and the shambles food court. My favourite things about Q-Parking is that you can pre-book and pay for your space so you don’t have the stress of struggling to find somewhere.
- Coppergate Carpark – Very similar priced and also only a short distance from the shambles market this multi story car park is another amazing choice.

Do TMK York Deliver?
TMK don’t provide their own delivery service but they are available on Just Eat and Deliveroo.
Is There Seating At TMK?
Yes, there is limited seating outside the food truck but there is also a seating area in the middle of the Shambles Food Court.
Is TMK York Fries Gluten-Free?
Yes, The fries them selves are gluten free and are cooked in a fryer separate to the chicken. If you have dietary needs we always recommend speaking to the team as all the staff are trained to help.
Is TMK York Halal?
The Beef Burgers are not Halal, However the chicken is Halal.
Can You Order and Collect TMK York?

My journey to Taylor Made Kitchen was mouthwatering to say the least.
