Myself and Emmie (My furry best friend), got invited to the New Hickory’s Smokehouse York Doggy Brunch Club on Saturday 26th September 2026. She came close to wearing out the carpet with excitement before we’d even left the house.
The club turned out to be a relaxed, well-organised morning built around a riverside walk, treats, friendly conversation and a shared brunch back at the restaurant. Emmie loved every part of it.
How Did Emmie’s Doggy Brunch Begin?
A team member greeted us at the door with a personalised/ Hickory’s branded goody bag full of treats, which Emmie eagerly investigated.
Every gathered in the bar area where we got to meet all the other Doggy Bruch Club members, Emmie made a new best friend called Teddy.
The area was filled with dog beds, toys, water and plenty of seats for everyone to relax.
The bar team made Emmie a Hickory’s glass full of whipped cream which was so cute watching here lick the glass clean.
Before setting off on a relaxing riverside walk. Emmie couldn’t resist devouring her treats along the way.
What We Ate At Doggy Brunch Club?
I enjoyed the full American breakfast with a cherry iced tea, while Emmie had her own bowl brought out and wasted no time getting stuck in.
Emmie was going crazy to get into the kitchen with smell of freshly cooked meats lapping the restaurant, one of the chef brought Emmie her own slice of Brisket for her to try. I’m afraid she’s now got expensive taste.
What Was Best Part Of Doggy Brunch Club?
The nicest surprise came after the food, when staff took a Polaroid of Emmie to add to the dog photo wall inside.
Watching her picture go up alongside dozens of other regulars’ dogs made the whole morning feel like she’d properly joined something, not just visited it.
