Inside the energy of the place was infectious, with the sounds of enjoyment all around.
The music set the stage perfectly, allowing for conversation without drowning out the excitement of the bowling action. The decor was vibrant and inviting, contributing nicely to the overall experience.
Booking and Customer Service at Hollywood Bowl, York
I conveniently booked ahead which I highly recommend not just to guarentee your lane but to also check out the range of deals.
Deals like “eat, drink, and bowl,” “2 games and a drink,” or “unlimited bowling” are just some of the choices available.
Don’t panic if you forget to book the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating they will check for lane availability or given an estimated wait time.

Our Bowling Experience at Hollywood Bowl, York
Apart from me been absolutely terrible at bowling the experience was enjoyable.
I personally enjoyed the scoring system it was interactive and fun, with a small screen for us to personalize our names and take pictures, which added to the family fun.
I noticed they offer VIP Bowling where you have your own private area and fancy looking bowling balls which I will be excited to experience next time.
Food and Drink at Hollywood Bowl, York
The food gave me an American style dinner vibe, with options like nachos, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and burgers. The kids’ menu was perfect for smaller appetites.
The array of drinks, including beers, wines, soft drinks, cocktails, slushies, and shakes, was impressive, I couldn’t decide. You can check out the entire menu here.
🍔 We decided on a large slushy, a large Coke, an adults beef burger, and a kids hotdog.
Our service was quick and efficient, with our order arriving in about 15 minutes, allowing us to relax but without the kids getting restless and waiting a long time.
Arcade and Additional Entertainment
Another highlight of our experience was the arcade area, packed with claw machines, popular branded games, and VR experiences.
It was a thrill to collect tickets from the games, which could be exchanged for small prizes or saved for something bigger.
❌ The only downfall is that some of the machines were turned off and had “Out of Orders” signs but can’t be helped by staff.
How Much I Spent and Is It Good Value for Money?
Our bowling experience, which included two games, (one for an adult and one for a junior) which came to £19.34.
🎳 We spent £18.63 on our food, which consisted of a large slushy, a large Coke, a beef burger, and a kids’ hotdog.
The arcade added another £10 but could have spent way more, bringing our overall spend to £47.97.
Considering the fun we had with two rounds of bowling, tasty food, and arcade excitement, it felt like money well spent. We Spend over 2 hours inside Hollywood Bowl.

Final Thoughts
For a total of £47.97, we enjoyed a fantastic outing with bowling, food, and arcade fun. I would heartily recommend this venue for a good time with all the family.
To keep costs down, i’d consider limiting spends in the arcade as I find it’s an easy way to overspend if your trying to stick to a budget.
