The new Anime Gallery is the biggest anime culture contribution to York, I couldn’t resist the urge to explore it. Now that the doors are open, everyone can dive into the incredible experiences it has in store.

Join me as I appreciate the anime culture with this celebratory new-store experience.

My First Impressions

The Anime Gallery York is located at 15-17 Feasegate, York, open daily from 10 am to 7 pm.

As I approached the Anime Gallery, I was immediately drawn to the 2 large figures on each side of the doorway, Luffy’s Gear 5 form from ‘One Piece’ and No-Face from ‘Spirited Away’.

They served as an enticing preview of the adventures waiting for me inside.

The Anime Gallery York’s display of anime figures is impressive and extensive.

I personally loved the large logo above the door referencing ‘One Piece’ with one of the iconic symbols from the show.

But will the exciting exterior continue throughout the store?

My Experience At The Anime Gallery York

I stepped into the store, and I came face to face with a wonderland of merchandise from all sorts of different series and creators, displayed on shelves all around me and figures throughout the middle of the store.

The atmosphere at The Anime Gallery York is welcoming, with cheerful visitors and staff.

I wanted to purchase so many things, there was something to catch my eye in every corner.

Despite that, the placement had a disorderly feeling, there wasn’t a specific area for different series or merch, I’d love to come back and know immediately where my favorite series can be found.

The atmosphere made me feel right at home, with lots of cheerful visitors and team members, all here to celebrate the anime culture.

Totoro’s Cafe: The Anime Gallery York

The Totoro cafe is like a different world! I was able to take fun pictures with the life-size figures from the movie, such as a large Totoro, and the two sisters.

Popular series like Demon Slayer, Naruto, and One Piece dominate the merchandise at The Anime Gallery York.

The area had all the elements of a cafe, but no customers. No signs displaying menus, prices, closure, or when a grand opening was due.

Although, lots of traditional Japanese snacks were on display catching my attention, but sadly, I was unsure if they were supposed to be purchased in the cafe area or in the main shop.

I’d love to visit again soon, hopefully when the full cafe experience is available.
