Recently, I revisited Clucking Oinks Sparks, charming food stall located on the upper floor of Sparks York.

A vibrant and energetic outdoor community space under its rather undermining exterior disguise. Situated at 17-21 Piccadilly in York, YO1 9PB.

Countless Tiktoks praise including the viral Nashville Mozzy Stick them for their food and service.

In this Clucking Oinks food review, I’ll give my truthful thoughts, and discover if Clucking Oinks is worth the hype.

Clucking Oinks Origin

Established in 2018, Clucking Oinks found itself a home within Sparks and soon expanded, opening a restaurant on Castlegate, York.

It swiftly gained a reputation for serving premium chicken. Michael Brand, the founder of Clucking Oinks, has successfully steered the establishment through 6 to 7 years of flourishing business.

The Food at Clucking Oinks, Sparks York

I ordered the Large Nashville Strips, BBQ Cheese Fries and the viral Nashville Mozzy Stick.

My Food at Clucking Oinks Sparks

As soon as I opened the bag, the rich aroma of smoky BBQ sauce and melted cheese filled the air.

The BBQ Cheese Fries were loaded with seasoned fries, a generous layer of creamy cheese sauce and a smoky BBQ topping.

The Nashville Chicken Strips were the standout. They arrived hot and freshly cooked, with a crisp coating that held on to the chicken’s moisture. The meat tasted tender and high-quality, and the Nashville seasoning brought a bold, tangy heat that made each bite full of flavour.

I also tried the Nashville Mozzy Stick, which was golden and crispy on the outside, with a warm, stretchy mozzarella centre. Its Nashville-style seasoning added a satisfying kick without overpowering the creamy cheese.

The Service at Clucking Oinks, Sparks York

When I went to order, I had to stand in the doorway of the kitchen.

The big sign telling me to order here was a clear give away but felt wrong with no counter. After a short wait a kind gentleman from the kitchen came to take my order.

They also provide a Order on the app option from your table, QR Codes on table make it easy to order.

I like that the app shows pictures of the meals allowing you to see what your ordering.

My only concern is that signal isn’t the best and wifi can be slow when busy which makes it difficult when ordering on the app.

All orders are brought over to the table by staff who was amazingly kind and respectful.

Bins are located near tables so you clear your own tables. One of the staff saw me clearing up and came over to help which was so polite.

My Experience at Clucking Oinks, Sparks York

I found the food stall to stand out from all the other competitors inside Sparks York.

It’s attractive design of Pink and Black makes Clucking Oinks the most eye-catching food brand selling quality chicken products and loaded fries.

The menu is simple but well put together targeting the younger generation with american style chicken burger worthy for TikTok and Instagram.

I grew fond of my time at Clucking Oinks but was it worth the money?

How Much Did Clucking Oinks, Sparks York Cost?

My order of Large Nashville Chicken Strips, BBQ Cheese Fries and Nashville Mozzy Stick came to a total of £30.00.

Initially, I considered the price rather steep, £15.50 for chicken strips seemed excessive.

However, upon tasting the high-quality, I found the cost justified. The food surpassed my expectations in both flavor and quality.

Sparks York does not offer parking facilities on the premises.

I usually opt to park at Q-Park Shambles, which is conveniently situated less than a 5-minute walk away.

Q-Park Shambles is among the more affordable parking options in York.

It offers a secure environment, and one of the features I personally like the ability to reserve a parking spot in advance.

My Final Thoughts

The menu was straightforward, and the food, particularly the freshly prepared buttermilk chicken strips and loaded fries was of exceptional quality.
